Biography:

Leopoldo Garcia, Jr., is the partner in charge of the firm's fast growing Workers' Compensation Division. He has been with the firm since 1989 and his practice areas are workers' compensation, labor matters and employment discrimination. He was born in Havana, Cuba in 1962 and is fully bilingual. Mr. Garcia graduated from Florida International University in 1986 with a B.A. in Political Science and the University of Miami School of Law in 1989, cum laude. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1989.

Mr. Garcia is currently on the Executive Council of the Workers' Compensation Section of the Florida Bar and is Past President of the Hispanic American Compensation Lawyers of America. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Dade County Bar Association, the Dade County Defense Bar Association, the Cuban American Bar Association, the Broward County Hispanic Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the Labor and Employment Section of the Florida Bar and is admitted to the Trial Bar of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Mr. Garcia has an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell®. Mr. Garcia has also been a speaker at Workers' Compensation Seminars and was most recently on the faculty of the National Business Institute's 1999 seminar; Workers' Compensation in Florida and Council on Education in Management's 2001 seminar, The Fundamentals of Workers' Compensation in Florida.

Mr. Garcia has a diverse portfolio of clients, including The Miami Herald Publishing Company, The Seminole Tribe of Florida, Sedanos Supermarkets, The Miami-Dade County School Board, The City of Coral Gables, Penske Truck Leasing, Thyssen Krupp Elevator Corporation, and other corporations and governmental institutions, as well as major insurance companies.
