Biography:

Juan (“JC”) Perez was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida where he graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology.

While at FSU, he was a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society, Oscar Arias Sanchez National Hispanic Honor Society, Cuban American Student Association, Lambda Alpha Epsilon, and Alpha Phi Sigma Honor Society.

He later attended St. Thomas University School of Law where he was elected President of the Student Bar Association for the 2002-2003 academic year. As President, he served on numerous faculty committees and participated in various Board meetings. Prior to his presidency, Mr. Perez served as a Senator of the Student Bar Association, President of the Hispanic American Law Society, and Senior Representative for the American Bar Association.

Before joining Angones McClure & Garcia, Mr. Perez was an Assistant State Attorney for the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office where he built a reputation for his thorough and aggressive approach to case investigation, preparation, and litigation.

During his tenure at the State Attorney’s Office, he tried numerous cases and handled thousands more ranging from misdemeanors to life felonies. Ultimately, Mr. Perez was designated as a specialized prosecutor in the Traffic Homicide Unit and the Narcotics Unit.
